We are a learning commons, committed to 21st Century learning standards and expectations!
The role and purpose of the library program is to ensure that both students and staff are effective users of ideas and information. This is achieved by:
Providing intellectual and physical access to materials in all formats
Providing instruction to foster competence and stimulate interest in reading, viewing, and using ideas and information
Working with other educators to design learning strategies to meet the needs of individual students.
The learning commons' instructional program is specifically tailored to the educational and developmental needs of ALL our students at each grade level. The curriculum for all students is two-pronged, targeting both literature appreciation as well as skill development. Our students continue to enjoy leisure and informational reading as well as learning informational literacy skills to be successful in college and career.
By learning to search, locate, evaluate, and use information, our students will take with them a love of reading as well as the skills they need to independently navigate the world of information.
